Solution: A Premier endorsed healthcare first e-commerce platform for medium to small business

Premier is one of the largest Group Purchasing Organizations (GPO) in the US with $1.5Bn in net revenues. Premier’s core business is facilitating relationships between traditional suppliers of healthcare products/services and the businesses that purchase those products/services. However they were never directly involved in the actual transactions. Premier doesn’t charge for membership; its GPO income comes from an administrative fee charged to the suppliers for each transaction.
Designit was brought in to understand the market and customers, design an user experience, and create a brand that would encourage the marketplace’s adoption.


We learned that users care about more than just saving money, especially when it comes to healthcare.
We synthesized our research into insights, personas, and journey maps that served as a foundation for design.

Together with Premier, we identified the unique positioning of the new brand — what does our brand stand for and how does it differ from its competitors?









Designing the experience
The new marketplace concept was a one-stop shopping experience with emphasis on value over price. Through iterative design sprints, we fleshed out the entire MVP of the experience.
In parallel, we designed new brand identity, product name, and brand platform for the new marketplace.


A direct channel to customers
stockd launch publicly in 2019 and received over $1.5M in sales within the first quarter.
stockd gives Premier a direct relationship with their end customers, which they didn’t have before.
